It would be in their best interest to design a product that would last well beyond that of their competitors. This in turn would quickly affect sales and by word of mouth, their future in the track industry would go in the dumper. If, for instance Camoplast made their tracks so they'd wear out sooner by changing the design yes, they'd sell them more often, but it would become apparent soon to those that are buying them that they're junk. I'm fully aware that business like to keep costs low, but it's a catch twenty-two when it comes to products/consumers and sales.
